A Visit to Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital

Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital, The Lorette Smit Hedgehog Rehabilitation Unit

Paint-splattered, rain-soaked & soil-caked.

On Thursday the 7th of April, the Parkhouse Bell team visited Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital to remember and celebrate the life of our wonderful friend and colleague Lorette Smit.

The wildlife hospital was very close to Lorette’s heart, and it does amazing work to rescue, rehabilitate and release sick and injured animals and birds.

We were privileged to be joined by Lorette’s wife, Sarah George, and together we spent the day digging, weeding and planting. We even painted the new deer enclosure.

In her honour, the hedgehog rehabilitation unit is now officially:

“The Lorette Smit Hedgehog Rehabilitation Unit”
